UUA General Assembly

Want to be a BuxMont delegate to Unitarian Universalism Association’s General Assembly (GA) without the travel hassle? Then this year’s UUA GA is for YOU because it’s online!

GA is the UUA’s annual gathering where participants explore theological underpinnings of our faith and conduct the business of the Association. As a delegate you are part of inspirational worship services, informative workshops, and business discussions that shape our UU future. Attendees report coming away with a renewed commitment to UUism and are inspired by innovative ideas to share with their congregation and the larger community.

BuxMont pays the registration for delegates who participate in GA’s business meeting June 14 – 16 (details: https://www.uua.org/ga/congregations/delegates). Plus, delegates can attend all GA offerings from June 19-21 (details: uua.org/ga/program/schedule). No special skills required. We 2 need more delegates! To find out more, contact Karen Reever (karenreever@comcast.net).  Make our voice heard by being a delegate representing BuxMont at GA business meetings

Crafternoons at Buxmont

With the world unraveling, we need to stitch ourselves together in community, now more than ever. Let’s come to BuxMont UU for some crafting time together.

We can meet and work on our craft projects or just come and hang out. We can stitch, cut, mend, sketch, share patterns, photos, stories and concerns, and maybe even craft supplies.

Summertime is sometimes crazy busy with vacations and commitments, but let’s see if we can find time for some crafting and conversation. Consider it a mental health day.

The social hall and the Fireside Library are reserved from 11 am-3 pm for three summer Saturday crafternoons: June 20, July 18 and August 15

Bring your own lunch or snack and drink. If you want to bring some food to share, that’s ok too, but not required or expected.

Kids are welcome, and parents are responsible. If the littles want to bring their  books or toys or crafts, yaaaayyyy. The Fireside Library is a good kid space adjacent to social hall where we can be assured they’re safe. If you’d rather have a day without childcare responsibility, it’s fine to not bring them. Totally your call. No expectations, and not many rules!

The one rule is that we are each responsible to clean up our space and stuff. We want to leave BuxMont as clean and neat as we find it, all ready for Sunday morning service.

This is going to be easy and relaxing. Fun. Fun is good! Any questions, please contact Donna Laing at donnalaing@aol.com.
