Books Needed for Little Free Library

  • Created – April 2024 by our Peace & Justice Committee in response to book banning. P&J members stock and cull the library.
  • Purpose – offers books to the community with a focus on diverse and banned books.
  • Books Needed – Your donations are needed!! Cleaning out books your kids have outgrown or those that you’ve already read? We’ll take them. Just put them directly in the Library, or in the Social Hall under Shared Abundance table. There’s a steady stream of users from our community who greatly appreciated your donations!

Crafternoons at Buxmont

With the world unraveling, we need to stitch ourselves together in community, now more than ever. Let’s come to BuxMont UU for some crafting time together.

We can meet and work on our craft projects or just come and hang out. We can stitch, cut, mend, sketch, share patterns, photos, stories and concerns, and maybe even craft supplies.

Summertime is sometimes crazy busy with vacations and commitments, but let’s see if we can find time for some crafting and conversation. Consider it a mental health day.

The social hall and the Fireside Library are reserved from 11 am-3 pm for three summer Saturday crafternoons: June 20, July 18 and August 15

Bring your own lunch or snack and drink. If you want to bring some food to share, that’s ok too, but not required or expected.

Kids are welcome, and parents are responsible. If the littles want to bring their  books or toys or crafts, yaaaayyyy. The Fireside Library is a good kid space adjacent to social hall where we can be assured they’re safe. If you’d rather have a day without childcare responsibility, it’s fine to not bring them. Totally your call. No expectations, and not many rules!

The one rule is that we are each responsible to clean up our space and stuff. We want to leave BuxMont as clean and neat as we find it, all ready for Sunday morning service.

This is going to be easy and relaxing. Fun. Fun is good! Any questions, please contact Donna Laing at donnalaing@aol.com.

Summer Retreat

Emily Dickinson says “Hope” is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul – And sings the tune without the words – And never stops – at all.”

Aristotle defines hope as a “waking dream”—a form of active imagination that allows us to live “inside” a possibility before it is realized.

Let’s explore ideas about Radiant Hope at our Summer Retreat. Get all the details about this heart-opening, hope-inspiring retreat at https://buxmontuu.org/creekside-retreats/
