BMUU Accessibility

Building, Programs and Services
Making our Fellowship accessible to people of all abilities and stages of life is a top priority. First and foremost, we offer pastoral care to all people coming from a variety of needs. Here is what we have done to accommodate all visitors and congregants.
Easy access and navigation into the building
- We have handicapped parking
- We have wheelchair accessible cut curb
- Our back entrance allows visitors to park nearby and enter the basement level with ease
- Just past the front entrance doors, we have an elevator/lift for wheelchairs and other mechanical aids
- We have double doors at our entrance, into our social hall and sanctuary
- Our sanctuary podium and choir are on the floor level. No ramps are needed
- Seating is arranged to allow maximum vantage
- Flexible seating accommodates wheelchairs and walkers and includes large, armed chairs
- Our bathroom is wheelchair accessible and offers an infant changing table
- Greeters, ushers and building monitors are on hand to help with any need
Physical Aids
- We offer large print hymnals and a braille hymnal. Words to our hymns are displayed on large-screen monitors during services
- Hearing-assist headphones are available at the AV desk for worship services. All speakers use a microphone so those who are hard of hearing are not excluded
- A First-Aid Kit is readily available
- A Defibrillator/AED is within reach
- We welcome service animals…we have grassy areas where they can relieve themselves
Sensitivities and Safety
- We use odorless candles and chalice flame
- In our Religious Education for Children and Youth, we strive to accommodate medical, learning, or behavioral needs to include everyone in our programming
- Our building monitors surveil our building to ensure safety during services
- All of our entrances have video cams
