Coming of Age– First class is Oct. 4

Art Explorers– is going to be focused on understanding the relationship between art and faith. We will be exploring a chalice made by our own Ed Youtz, and developing a covenant for the year

Woven Faiths– is going to be engaged in exploring interdependence. Kids will be sewing to help them understand how we are all connected. Kids will also work on developing a covenant for the year.

R.E. Programs for 2026-2027 Year

This year during service time we will offer three options of religious education class. Two of our classes, Woven Faiths and Art Explorers, will not be divided by age. Instead children can pick week-to-week which class they would prefer to attend. The Nursery will be open for kids (typically under the age of three), who are not interested in formal learning. Outside of Sunday Mornings, we will also be offering a Coming of Age program. Please see below for more information on each of the offered classes.

Coming of Age– This program, offered for teens in grades 9-11 and will be meeting Sunday at 7pm for about an hour on the dates listed below. This program will have the teens learn about various spiritual and religious beliefs as a group. Through their learning, they will explore what they believe and by the end of the year, figure out a way to express their beliefs.

Art Explorers- In this class, students will explore art, themselves, and world around them. Each week they will focus on a particular artist, artistic technique, or specific work of art. They will think about big questions about themselves and what matters in our communities and our faith. There will a lot of art creation in this class, as students will have the opportunity to re-create, re-imagine, or be inspired by the focus of the week. This class will be meeting in room 105. We will be using curriculum designed by Morgan Patten.

Woven Faiths- In this class, students will be exploring topics that will overlap with the topics of the worship. This curriculum developed through the UUA will honor our past, incorporate our present and future expression of faith. It will focus on how we can incorporate our UU values in purposeful ways in the many communities in which we are all a part of. Each week, there will be a story, discussion, and an activity (craft or game) focused around various topics including our JETPIG values (learn more about those here), and things like covenant, and living the questions. This class will meet in room 104.

Nursery- open to kids under the age of 3-ish, there will not be any formal learning here, but lots of learning to share and not put things in our mouths, which are very important skills. They will be meeting in room 103.
