Split Plate Recipient for April 2026: Access Services
Happy 2nd Anniversary to BuxMont’s Little Free Library

Created – April 2024 by BuxMont’s Peace & Justice Committee.
Purpose – offers books to the community with a focus on diverse/banned books
Books – from YOU! There’s a steady stream of users. Thank you for the wonderful books you donate to our community.
“Librarians” – Peace & Justice collects, stocks and culls our Little Free Library.
Seeking Chairs and Volunteers
We all share a small and meaningfull part of the congregation. Committees do a lot of the work but always need more help. The following committees need more members: Membership, Adult RE, Decorating, and Hospitality
The following chair positions need to be filled [anyone can lead;)] – Communications Committee, Librarian, and Denominational Connections. For more questions reach out to the current chairs of those committees or Jennifer Worthington.
Send Us Your BuxMont Photos for Instagram
At our last Fellowship Council meeting, committee chairpersons were asked to submit one photo each month to our Communications Committee for inclusion in BuxMont’s Instagram postings. We thank Micki Vieille for being the first to submit a photo, from the Decorating Committee!

Anyone can submit a photo, not just committee people. Our goal is to provide representative photos of people and activities here at BuxMont. To submit a photo, send to the Communications Committee.
Did you know that you can keep up with the latest information about what’s going on at BuxMont through our Instagram account? Here’s a link to make it easy for you to find the account and follow – it’s at BuxMontUU! Our Communications Committee (ComCom) is planning to add even more content to the account – you don’t want to miss it! Follow it and let your friends know about it!
Our Whole Lives (OWL) for Adults

Our Whole Lives (OWL) for Adults
Next Session, April 26
4-7:30 p.m. in-person at BuxMont (dinner included)
This year we are offering the Our Whole Lives Curriculum (aka, OWL) for all ages, including adults! This is a comprehensive, lifespan sexuality education program. We ask our children and youth to learn about sexuality in a science-based, values-informed way but what about our adults? Now, you can learn more too! This will be offered one Sunday per month. Upcoming dates are: April 26, May 3 (make-up day).
It would be helpful to let Rev. Kevin (kevin<at>buxmontuu<dot>org) know you plan to attend by sending him an email but you are welcome to attend without registering too.
To learn more about OWL programs, please visit the UUA website here.
We Really Need Your Help
Are you available once a month for one hour? Do you enjoy tossing around ideas? Do you like the company of enthusiastic people? Do you like to laugh? Then you’re the perfect person to join the Adult Education Committee.
Here’s what we do: We develop and deliver educational programs for the benefit of our Fellowship and the expression of our values. We put our ideas on the table. And together we develop a program or special event. We meet on the second Thursday on Zoom.
Contact any member to find out more: Rev. Kevin (kevin<at>buxmontuu<dot>org),
Rosemarie Monaco (roem66@gmail.com), Nancy Taylor (nancywtaylor@gmail.com) ,
Jeanne Kane (jeannekaneuu@gmail.com) or Scott Kuhn (skuhn111@aol.com).
We and our adorable puppy messengers thank you for considering joining our team.
BuxMont Library News

Adventures in reading.
The Library Committee thanks all of you who have donated books to the BuxMont
library. We now have a surplus of books, and with our limited space we must prune our
collection. In doing so, we have focused on books that are duplicates and on books
covering topics which are already adequately covered by other materials.
We are offering these surplus books for free to all members and friends of BuxMont,
which are now available after the service in the social hall and later in the library].
Please select one or more free books from the Free Books basket. You may keep the
books for your own library or pass them along to others. Please do not return the free
books to the BuxMont library.
As always, you are also welcome to explore the library fully and to check out books and
videos. Questions? You may also contact Jeannie Bellavance (library@buxmontuu.org).
BMUU Accessibility Page

We continually update our website with information about who we are–information that is not only vital for people to know but that reinforces our commitment to providing an environment of Inclusion. You’ll find the new page under About Us as well as I’m New.

Knitted & Crocheted Prayer Blankets Needed!
The Pastoral Care Department of Doylestown Hospital is in need of more crocheted or knitted prayer blankets for its most severely ill patients. These blankets are precious to the recipients and their families, and also are special to the clinicians who witness the gift.
If you’d like to provide comfort to someone with your stitching, reach out to Donna Laing (donnalaing@aol.com) or Mary Youtz (maryyoutz1@gmail.com) for details about the making of the blankets.
And note: BuxMont already has two persons who are enthusiastic about delivering the prayer blankets to the hospital when they are ready. We just need more people with willing hearts and hands to make the blankets.
BuxMont Gardens: A precious resource that needs care
BuxMont sits on a beautiful verdant plot of land near a creek. We can all enjoy the sunshine, flowers and trees, and the sounds of birds, in a lovely setting. We are the stewards of this bit of earth. Our gardens need tender loving care to stay healthy. They need the effort of humans to look neat, inviting and colorful. Please join the BuxMont Gardeners’ group and help take care of our environment. See Susie Hook or Melissa Egbertson for more info.
Sharing Abundance
Food insecurity threatens life. BuxMont Fellowship is committed to fighting hunger in our communities by sharing abundance. Please see the table in the corner of the social hall for the list of needed items. If you have food, please share it. If you need food, please take it.
Since July 1st, you’ve given a total of 668 items and 121 pounds of food to seven different food pantries in Montgomery and Bucks Counties.
You can make a difference for food insecure families by continuing to bring shelf-stable food items to the Shared Abundance corner in the Social Hall. Thank you for caring, and thank you for your continued generosity! If you have any questions, please see Donna Laing or Scott Kuhn from Peace & Justice committee. BuxMonters sharing abundance can really make a difference! Together, we can.
Writing Checks to the Cause or Charity of the Month (previously known as Split Plate Recipient)
When someone donates via check to the cause/charity of the month, it’s often not clear to the Finance team (who processes these checks) how the donation should be allocated when “split plate” is written. Some people want their donation split between a basket donation and the cause/charity of the month. Others want the entire donation to go to the cause/charity of the month. Starting now if you wish 100% of your donation to go to the cause/charity of the month, please write Cause or Charity on the check. If you want to divide the amount between a basket donation and the cause/charity, you should write Divide on the check.
Volunteers Needed for Our Unsheltered Neighbors
When it gets too cold for our neighbors living in their cars or in tents, two Code Blue projects–one in Doylestown and a new one in Lower Bucks–provide a hot meal and an overnight cot with clean bedding. Advocates for the Homeless & Those in Need in Fairless Hills can only offer a warm bed when at least 18 volunteers are available. So if you have a big heart and time to volunteer overnight, driving, or for other shorter tasks, please register here to attend an orientation for Lower Bucks taking place in Morristown or online. Or else in Doylestown, the Coalition to Shelter & Support the Homeless also needs volunteers.
Donations for the new project are also greatly appreciated and will help cover transportation and other costs. To give, please click here.
Be Part of BuxMont’s Culture of Welcome!
We are changing how we fill the many roles needed to have Sunday mornings happen each week. As part of that change, we are asking folks to sign up to be ushers with the Worship Committee. Ushers welcome people to our sanctuary, offer orders of service and hymnals, and help collect the offering. Sign-up for one Sunday, every 2nd Sunday or something in between. If you have questions or would like to sign up, please contact worship<at>buxmontuu<dot>org.
Song Circle
Once again, Song Circle is a hybrid place to gather, sing and play instruments. Song Circle still meets on the second Saturday of each month from 1 to 3 p.m. But now you can either come in person to the Sanctuary or join the group on Zoom. The Zoom link can be found in the eVoice under Monthly Events.
Song Circle is a nonjudgmental space where we gather because we like sharing and listening to many types of songs – folk, rock, jazz, you name it. Some of us are more experienced than others. Some play instruments – keyboard, autoharp, guitar, violin – while others sing a cappella. Do whatever makes you comfortable. Or just come to listen and enjoy some or all of 2 hours of music.
If you have questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to Mary Youtz (maryyoutz1@gmail.com). You’re invited to join Song Circle at any time!
