Who Are We?
Welcome to BuxMont! If you are new to Unitarian Universalism you will find us to be a different kind of faith. Rather than center our religion on creeds or a particular set of beliefs, we choose to follow a way of life that embraces spiritual growth, questioning, integrity and community, and that is lived in diversity. Within our fellowship we have Theists, Humanists, Christians, Atheists, Buddhists, neo-pagans, and many others – all in community together. We have found that the diversity of our beliefs aids each of us in our own truth-seeking.
Our Sunday services are a good first way to get to know us – in a year of minister- and lay-led services you’re likely to participate in services on topics as diverse as Hinduism, science and religion, human rights, loss and grieving, spiritual journeys, and many more. The services are Sunday mornings at 10:30 am. Dress is come-as-you-are and newcomers are always welcome. Services are followed by a social hour with coffee and doughnuts.
Children are especially important to us at BuxMont, and many services include a special time for the youngest members of our community. This is followed by a plethora of children’s religious education classes, led by our very able Religious Education team. In the words of William Ellery Channing, “The great end in religious instruction is not to stamp our minds upon the young, but to stir up their own… not to form an outward regularity, but to touch inward springs.”
Sunday services and classes, though, are just one way to get to know us. Small group activities, like potlucks, adult religious education classes, Small Group Ministries, our Adult Discussion Group, the Spirituality Group, choirs, our Explorations Groups, Gaia’s Rainbow and Adult Religious Education classes are just some of the ways connect with people and begin to find the genuine caring community that BuxMont is to many of us.
Whoever you are, we hope that you will find BuxMont to be an open, welcoming, caring community.

We Bid You Welcome
Moved by love, we share lifelong journeys of growth, wonder and healing, nurturing wholeness in society and spirit, creating a community of justice and compassion.
(Statement of Core Identity, December 2013)
This is a free, creedless religious congregation. In the discipline of truth and the spirit of universal kinship, we join together in a cooperative quest for religious and ethical values, seeking to apply these values to the development of character, enrichment of the spirit, and service to all.
(Statement of Purpose from the By-laws of the BuxMont UU Fellowship)
You are welcome here, whatever your age, gender or gender identity, physical or mental capabilities, social graces, beauty of body or spirit, sexual orientation, ethnic origin, or position in life. Join us as we journey toward peace and justice for all persons.
(Statement of Inclusion adopted by the Board of the BuxMont UU Fellowship)
We bid you welcome to this house. It is a place we love and which we tend with care. We do not ask what you believe, or expect you to think the way we do, but only that you try to live a kindly, helpful life, with the dignity proper to a human life. Preachers here have the task of presenting religion freely, fearlessly, and faithfully. Hearers have the responsibility of testing what they hear, not only with the critical mind, but also in the living of everyday life. The members of this congregation welcome the support of all who believe that religion is wider than any sect and deeper than any set of opinions, and all who might find in their friendship strength and encouragement for daily living.

A Welcoming Congregation
On December 10, 2000, our congregation voted unanimously to certify to the Unitarian Universalist Association that we have met all the guidelines to be listed as a Welcoming Congregation to gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgender folks.
