As warm spring and then summer days bring us closer to the 250th anniversaries of the signing of the Lee Resolution and the Declaration of Independence, and thus the birth of this fledgling experiment, the hum of voices past and the rally cries of voices present remind us that there is still much to heal and more to honor in regards to truths being self-evident and to being “we the people.” The soil of this land holds all the truths/the facts of this land, and therefore the totality of the histories/the stories of all the people who have lived and died. Regardless of centered and forced narratives, the land knows all; it holds the memory of all its people, of all the moments that have transpired. From its depth then rises a sacred call – a beckoning for us to hear – the sacred call of interdependence: to embody our interconnectedness, our bound liberation, our reverence. Join us on July 5th as we lift up and lean into voices who have heard that sacred call.
