Book Communion: Sharing Stories, Resisting Censorship

This Sunday’s programming is being offered both in-person and online.

Rives Collins wrote, “Storytelling is among the oldest forms of communication. Storytelling is the commonality of all human beings, in all places, in all times.” In this moment of increasing censorship and elimination of stories that reflect our real, lived lives and those of those we hold dear, we will gather to share stories that matter to us. Bring a book to exchange, one that mattered in your childhood or one you just read for the first time and made an impression. Bonus points if it is or has been banned by an institution! We will hold a Book Communion as part of this service so you will leave with a different book than you brought.
