During this evening service we will honor the Winter Solstice, the longest night of the year with song, word, candlelight, and darkness. We will mark the turning of the Wheel of the Year, pause in the dark, and welcome back the returning light. This service is part Yule/Winter Solstice concert and part community ritual where the lights all around our building and in the sanctuary are extinguished and then we welcome back the light. Note for those will younger children – we do experience a couple of minutes of complete darkness in the sanctuary.
Rev. Kevin (he/him) has been BuxMont UU Fellowship’s minister since 2018. Beyond congregational life, Kevin is Adjunct Faculty with the Humanist Studies Program of the American Humanist Association, tries to maintain a meditation practice, and loves (perhaps too much) using his Bullet Journal. To read Rev. Kevin’s complete bio, visit the staff page of our website.
