This Sunday’s programming is being offered both in-person and online.

FISH is a volunteer organization that provides emergency assistance to people in need when no other timely assistance is available. FISH seeks to follow the example of Christ by helping the weakest and poorest members of our community. Although FISH receives much of its funding through local churches, it provides help regardless of religious affiliation, race, gender, or any other personal factor.

Marijane Harris, the President of FISH, will be our special speaker. Some local volunteer opportunities will be shared. There will be a Talkback in the Sanctuary at noon for anyone interested.

Marijane is a long-time resident of Doylestown, a mother of two, and a serial entrepreneur. She and her husband, Adam, are members of Salem United Church of Christ. Marijane began volunteering with Doylestown Area FISH in 2019, and in 2022 was selected as the organization’s president, succeeding Frank Gallagher, following his 45 years of distinguished service to the organization and to the community. Doylestown Area FISH is an all-volunteer charitable organization that provides direct emergency assistance to members of the community who are in need of assistance with housing, utility bills, food, and fuel. Beyond providing front-line emergency assistance, Doylestown Area FISH connects clients with local agencies and other volunteer organizations that provide longer-term aid, striving to help break the cycle of poverty.
