“The most vulnerable, and therefore the most courageous act we will ever do is to allow ourselves to feel joy.” — Brené Brown
Many of us struggle to feel joy, even when it shows up in our lives. Shame, trauma, and cultural messages can make us hesitant—unsure if joy is something we’re allowed to feel, or afraid it won’t last. In this reflection, we’ll explore what it means to uncover the joy we’ve learned to hide. What if joy isn’t the opposite of pain, but something we’re still allowed to feel alongside it? And what might change if we let it in?
