Opened: Sunday, May 9, 2013
Ran through: Sunday, June 9, 2013
About the Artist:
Stephen Wisniewski has been a bonsai enthusiast for over twenty years. Upon retiring from the health care industry, he learned to create ceramic containers for his trees. Over the last six years, he developed an interest in sculptural ceramics and sculpture in wood, stone and metal. Anodized aluminum wire, used to train bonsai, became small wire sculptural models for welded steel sculpture. Ceramic sculptures are suggestive of a variety of living organisms and have been exhibited in non-juried shows at the Hunterdon County Library (2008,2009,2011,2012) ,the Sidetracks Gallery in New Hope (2009,2010) and Greenshire Arts Consortium (2010).
His carved wooden sculptures are abstract figurative pieces that have been exhibited at the 14th (2008) and 15th (2009) Artsbridge Annual Juried Shows. An abstract figurative, ceramic sculpture has been accepted for the Central Bucks, Byers 27th Annual Art Exhibit (2013).
